Aboriginal School Based Traineeships
An Aboriginal School Based Traineeship is an excellent opportunity for students to commence their careers whilst remaining at school. By participating in a traineeship, students are able to complete secondary graduation through a combination of school, an industry-recognised qualification and paid employment. School-based Trainees are paid a training wage for the duration of the traineeship. Traineeships are established under a formal contract and registered with Apprenticeship Support Australia.

Trainee Host Employer Services
The Host Employer provides the day-to-day supervision of the trainee in the workplace. They also provide training and workplace experiences that match the “units of competency” outlined in the Training Plan.

Host Employers also “sign off” on the assessment of workplace competencies and verify that the trainee is working the required hours each week. Most importantly, the Host Employer provides a safe, supervised workplace that is a welcoming environment free of discrimination and harassment.
